Construction Project Manager

OVERVIEW:

Amicon Management is seeking an Project Manager to provide lead the strategic and day-to-day direction of assigned industry projects. This is an exciting position which will expose you to South Florida’s highest-level projects including all of the intricacies and stakeholders of the construction, real estate development and delivery process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and direct day-to-day coordination of project deliverables
  • Delegate and oversee responsibilities to team members of assigned projects;
  • Direct daily client communication;
  • Construction Administration (managing RFI’s, Submittals, CO’s, etc.);
  • Review of drawings for completeness and best practices;
  • Review and assess consulting scheduling and agreements (construction, design);
  • Responsible for purchase orders, budget adherence and all project-related costs
  • Manage and analyze direct and indirect cost budget;
  • Responsible for construction schedule adherence;
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction, review contractors’ requisitions for payment and recommend the release of construction funds;
  • Observe general compliance of as-built conditions with the contract drawings and specifications;
  • Review construction schedules, trade payment breakdowns, job cost reports, and payment requisitions;
  • Maintain high level of vendor contact and communication;
  • Manage multiple projects;
  • Approve and send out weekly project status reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field;
  • At least 5+ years of experience in construction administration, architecture, engineering, construction management or similar experience;
  • Knowledge of the local permitting process and construction delivery methods and agreements;
  • Familiarity with construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types;
  • Passion for being detail oriented and highly organized;
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook and MS Project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

Assistant Construction Manager

Amicon Management is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to provide support to the project management team. This is an exciting position which will expose you to South Florida’s highest-level projects including all of the intricacies and stakeholders of the construction, real estate development and delivery process.

  • Support an industry division project manager (PM) and team on multiple projects;
  • Attend client meetings and OACs to record meeting minutes and assist follow-up action items;
  • Assist in construction administration (managing RFI’s, Submittals, CO’s, etc.)
  • Review of drawings for completeness and best practices for project manager;
  • Review and assess consulting scheduling and agreements (construction, design);
  • Assist project manager in analysis of direct and indirect cost budget;
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction, review contractors’ requisitions for payment and recommend the release of construction funds as directed and approved by project manager;
  • Observe general compliance of as-built conditions with the contract drawings and specifications;

Controller

OVERVIEW:

Amicon Construction is seeking a self-directed and experienced controller to oversee all financial, accounting and human resources activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. This is an ideal opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced work place and is well-versed in working closely with senior management.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial record keeping and analysis as well as overseeing the administrative systems and operations, including staff and facilities.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, including footnotes and company consolidation.
  • Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets.
  • Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments;
  • Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel.
  • Evolve, document and maintain an overall system of record keeping, including general ledger, fixed assets, depreciation, and subsidiary ledger reconciliations to accumulate financial transactions made by the company.
  • Prepare and/or direct the preparation of timely reporting of governmental regulatory requirements i.e.: tax reporting/deposits; insurance reporting, BPOL, and licensing.
  • Maintain a highly organized custody of official company documents.
  • Prepare effective schedules for year-end audits and manage the quality of deliverables provided to our outside CPA firm to assure smooth preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Keep up-to-date on current HR trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with experience in human resources.
  • Construction project accounting experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with inward-facing and outward-facing partners.
  • Superior organizational and follow through skills.
  • Work well under pressure in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
